Tim Burton in Prague

Tim Burton

#TimBurtonPrague

Tim Burton – director, producer, writer, poet, artist, illustrator – is returning to the Czech Republic after 10 years to give his admirers another glimpse into the innermost recesses of his mind.

The American film visionary connects the innocent world of childhood with the dark side of human existence, storytelling across genres and styles including a revival of stop-motion animation.

Work in Progress!!!

The walls are being painted, drawings are being framed, puppets are being prepared.
The exhibition preparation is in full swing!

The grand opening is scheduled for May 1st.

the EXHIBITION

From The World of Tim Burton Exhibition in 2014, The Stone Bell House, Prague

An exhibition which explores the more than 50-year artistic career of this visual storyteller, who always manages to lighten his darkly tuned stories with his trademark exaggeration and humor. After 10 years the exhibition returns to Prague with new material from recent projects.

1 May30 September 2024

Municipal House • Náměstí Republiky 1090/5 • Prague
Open daily 10:00 a.m.–7. p.m.

The return to Prague follows a world tour which has delighted visitors of the world’s top museums and galleries including the Max Ernst Museum in Bruhl, the Mori Arts Gallery in Tokyo, the Museo Franz Mayer in Mexico, and the Design Museum in Seoul, plus many more.

The exhibition features 600 works, including storyboards, sketches, scene designs, puppets, photographs, and more. The imagery featured hails from timeless film classics such as Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas through contemporary films like Dumbo and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

The exhibition is organized by independent curator Jenny He in collaboration with Tim Burton Productions and Art Movement.
